Artificial intelligence by definition is the development of computer programs that can do things that were seen as only possible by human intelligence. This raises questions however such as how will it affect our privacy and how can AI make mistakes.
Privacy
One of the biggest questions when it comes to AI is how will the integration of AI in various subjects affect our privacy. There are cameras everywhere but you will probably never see a security camera video of you. The data recorded from security cameras are almost only used if something happens. With the integration of AIs a program may be able to figure out who the people on camera are and record that data. This will allow data on peoples locations to be used even if nothing happened.
Potentially Biased Data
There are a huge amount of factors that go into data collection if an AI was relied on Heavily and for some reason was getting biased data. for example there is a raindrop on a camera and it cannot count properly. or there is a biased data such as Amazons recruiting algorithm was biased against women since it had more male candidates it had more data and favored male candidates. As AI is used more we need to be careful of stuff like this.
Promises of AI
AI can do incredible things Facial recognition AI generated art and text, restoration of pictures, self driving cars, Artificial Intelligence has limitless possibilities. And the more we make it the more we can improve. Artificial intelligence isn’t one thing, it’s a field that can lead to tons of technological advances.
